School Mural Artwork Submission Due April 3rd

Student Council is working with an artist to create a school mural on the ball wall. We need your artistic skills! Be creative and use your imagination using your grade level themes. Talent Show Information

Got talent? Auditions for Matsumoto's Talent Show will take place on Thursday, April 4th. There are mandatory dates for all participants. Please review before submitting application. Click on the link for more information. Applications are due to Room 17 or Room 30 by Thursday, March 21st. Applications can also be picked up at Room 17 and Room 30.

ATTENTION Matsumoto Singers! Our annual San Jose Giants Night is just around the corner, on Friday, April 12th. If your child would like to sing on the field with the combined Evergreen Choir, please have your child learn the National Anthem. Mrs. Madsen will be doing a quick singing practice on Thursday, March 28th, Tuesday, April 2nd and Thursday, April 4th in room 13 right after school!!! This practice will be only 10 minutes!!! GET YOUR TICKETS!!! TOM MATSUMOTO PTA & STARTING ARTS PRESENTS: Alice in Wonderland Jr. on THURSDAY, MARCH 7th at 6:30 PM (LOOKING GLASS) and FRIDAY, MARCH 8th at 6:30 PM (JABBERWOCKY). Tickets will be sold before and after rehearsal near school forum and at the door. It is $5 per ticket, free for children 4 and under. Please contact one of our parent volunteers to reserve or pick up your tickets.

Mary Eschen is a popular local parenting educator as well as a Life and Parenting Coach. Her entertaining style and energy will put you back in the drivers seat with some new ideas on how to set reasonable electronic limits based on age, what types of parent controls to use and what do to when things get out of control. Coin Drive for The Humane Society from 2/25-3/15

Our school will be having a coin drive fundraiser to collect coins and cash for The Humane Society, which will be helping many animals in need from February 25th to March 15th. What is STEAM? Parents and students will learn the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics through interactive and exciting activities. We are striving to build a stronger curriculum around these subjects. It will be very engaging and exciting for all participants. Matsumoto's Annual San Jose Giants Baseball Night on April 12th

Come join us at Municipal Stadium for a fun evening of baseball. The San Jose Giants are the farm team for the San Francisco Giants and many of their players have moved up to the major league. It's a wonderful stadium where you can really see the players up close. Matsumoto has a large block of tickets available for only $7.00 each! Tickets can be sold to neighbors, family, parents' co-workers, baseball team members and friends. One lucky student will be chosen by Friday, April 5th to either throw out the first pitch or participate in an activity on the field. Be sure to see the Evergreen joint school choirs sing The National Anthem at the beginning of the game.

Pre-Order for Family Paint Night by 3/15

Turn in your Pre-Order forms by March 15th! Color Me Mine will be coming to school on Friday, April 5th from 6:00pm-7:30pm in the Forum. Families will have the opportunity to be creative and paint an item, which will be glazed and returned to the family. These attractive items will make great gifts! If you and your child would like to participate in Family Paint Night, sponsored by PTA, please fill out the form along with check/cash and return it to your classroom teacher by March 15th. Toy and Book Drive from February 11th to March 8th

Do you have new, unused toys or books to donate? Tom Matsumoto Elementary School is working with "See the Rainbow" Team to collect new, unused toys and books for Homeless children for their birthdays at the San Jose Homeless Shelter and Next Door-Solution for Domestic Violence. "See the Rainbow" Team's mission is to help the children in need, so they can be happy, have hopes and see the rainbow again! In conjunction with "See the Rainbow" Team, Tom Matsumoto Elementary School will be collecting new, unused toys/books for our upcoming Family Bingo Night. Please bring your donations to the OFFICE or FORUM by Friday, March 8th.

2019-2020 Registration packets will be available beginning February 6th in the school office between 9am-3pm. You must present one proof of residence in the Tom Matsumoto attendance area to receive the packet.
