School Reopening Process (August 2020)

The Evergreen School District’s plan approved by the Evergreen Board of Trustees on July 15, 2020 directed staff to develop a hybrid learning model, which is tentatively scheduled to be implemented in January 2021, when students return from Winter Break, depending on whether Santa Clara County is still in a county risk level that allows for schools to be open. This plan has not changed, despite the state’s revised criteria. “We will re-evaluate our ability to safeguard schools and keep students and staff healthy and safe before the end of the third week in December so that, if we can change to the Hybrid Learning Model, we will do so in January, when students return from Winter break," said Dr. Flores, who also emphasized that parents will still be provided choices for learning model options for their children at that time.
