We have received updated ESD food and nutritional guidelines. We have added our guidelines as a school as well. It is extremely important that all parents and teachers follow them to ensure the health of our children. Children with allergies and/or specific diets are placed at risk if we fail to do so. We are no longer allowing parents or other family members to bring birthday treats that they have purchased or made themselves that do not meet state nutritional guidelines such as cupcakes, cookie, etc. If it is important to you to send something on that special day, "birthday surprises" like stickers, pencils, erasers, etc. are more appropriate and useful. Special parties at school will need to go through our Child Nutritional Services (CNS) department if food is going to be present. Our teachers will notify you if such events will be taking place. Information on CNS and their nutritional guidelines can be found on the Evergreen School District website

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday celebrates the life and legacy of a man who brought hope to America. We commemorate as well the timeless values he taught us through his example — the values of courage, truth, justice, compassion, dignity, humility and service that so radiantly defined Dr. King's character and empowered his leadership. On this holiday, we commemorate the universal, unconditional love, forgiveness and nonviolence that empowered his revolutionary spirit. Monday, January 21st. School will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King
