About Dove Hill
Welcome to Dove Hill School, Home of the Bears!
We, at Dove Hill are pleased that you have taken time to visit our website. We are a beautifully maintained school located at the base of the Evergreen Foothills just south of the Highway 101. In 1988, were the 14th of 18 schools built in the Evergreen School District. We celebrate a culturally rich and diverse community of over 500 students. Our students are embraced by a community of staff and families who work to ensure our school is a place where children are safe, enjoy learning and look to the school as a hub within the community.
Here at Dove Hill, we not only believe in developing a shared partnership between home and school. Our passionate teaching and support staff works collaboratively to celebrate student achievement, academically, socially and emotionally. Our community partners with the school to plan a myriad of community social events such as the fall carnival, movie nights along with a host of academic family nights.
As partners, we share the responsibility for our student’s success and will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:
- Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for learning each and every day
- Reads daily to develop a love of reading and improve literacy skills
- Shares with you “school happenings” such as what they learned or participated in at school
- Talks to you about additional support in reading/mathematics
- Completes all homework assignments
- Shares your belief that education opens the doors to success in life
As part of the Dove Hill Community, your presence in your child’s education is another indicator for academic success. This can be demonstrated in multiple ways that don’t necessarily require your presence in your child’s classroom. Any volunteer opportunity you can provide is great modeling for your child and shows you place a high value on his/her education. Please consider volunteering in any of the following activities:
- ABC Parent reading program
- The Home and School Club
- School Wide Events (examples: Fall Carnival, Math Night, Read Across America)
- School Site Council/English Language Advisory Council
- Making copies for classrooms, and more
The passionate and dedicated staff is delighted to be a part of the Dove Hill Community and look forward to a strong partnership to developing student excellence and achievement. We look forward to meeting you.

Community & School Profile
Evergreen School District, located in the City of San Jose, is comprised of fifteen elementary schools and three middle schools. Once a small farming city, San Jose became a magnet for suburban newcomers between the 1960s and the 1990s, and is now the third largest city in California. The city is located in Silicon Valley, at the southern end of the San Francisco Bay Area, and is home to more than 973,000 residents.
Dove Hill Elementary School is located in the southwestern quadrant of the district’s borders. In the 2014-15 school year, the school served 535 students in grades TK through six on a traditional calendar schedule. Our school provides a family-oriented, nurturing, and safe place for students to learn, grow, and develop intellectually. Teachers, staff, and administrators continue to act on the principle that students come first.
