DID YOU KNOW? • Starting in kindergarten, too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school. • Missing 10 percent (or about 18 days) can make it harder to learn to read. • Students can still fall behind if they miss just a day or two days every few weeks. • Being late to school may lead to poor attendance. • Absences can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up. Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit in preschool so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Good attendance will help children do well in high school, college, and at work. We are asking parents to continue partnering with us for your child's success by helping to minimize classroom disruptions. If you have something to drop off at school (lunch, paperwork, forgotten items), we will store it safely in the office for your child to retrieve during recess or lunch. Additionally, we ask that you schedule all appointments outside of school hours whenever possible. We value every minute of learning time. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Parents, Guardians & Caretakers - these are the expectations for using the bus loop to drop off and pick up your child. 1. Right turns only into the loop. 2. Drive slowly and carefully. 3. Do not exit your car. If your child needs help, it is best to park and walk. 4. Move all the way forward. Do not hold up traffic by stopping in the middle of the loop. 5. Ask for help from the teacher/admin on duty if you cannot find your child. Honking is not advised. Remember, it's a school zone. Safety is the highest priority.

There are many parent groups, but there is only one PTA – Parent Teacher Association. Connecting families, schools and communities for almost 120 years, PTA is the largest children's advocacy association in the country and the defining organization for family engagement. PTA addresses topics that are important to parents and public-school administrators. We fight for full education funding, quality teachers, and programs and policies in the best interest of all children.
