Honor Society students are recognized for their outstanding efforts. In order to be a member of the Honor Society, students must have all A's and B's (no C’s) in every class, no citizenship U's on the report card, and must maintain a 3.5 GPA.
Those students who are in the Honor Society for each of the first three quarters with at least a 3.5 GPA each quarter (all A’s and B’s, and no U’s or C’s), will be eligible to participate in an event to recognition their efforts at the end of the year.
At the end of the school year, top students are formally honored at Honors Awards Night. This is a by-invitation event for students who receive community awards, straight A’s for their entire enrollment at Chaboya, Top Ten Students, and our Valedictorian and Salutatorian.
The top academic students will lead our 8th graders during the graduation ceremony in June. Determination of the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the 8th grade class will be calculated for those students who maintain only A’s in all of their classes for two years. In addition, the following formula will be used to calculate our Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and Top Ten Students.
A+ = 6points
A = 5 points
A- = 4pointsYOU MUST OBTAIN A 1.5 GPA TO BE PROMOTED FROM CHABOYA OR ANY EVERGREEN MIDDLE SCHOOL
Students are acknowledged by teachers and staff for upholding the Chaboya 3 C's with “Cudos.” Students can turn in their “Cudos” to the front office, where every week the administration acknowledges individuals who made a great choice, took a chance, or made a positive change within their classrooms or community. School-wide “Cudo” acknowledgements are read during morning announcements, and are printed in the weekly newsletter.
