Please make sure your 6th grader is registered for the 6th grade promotion activities by Friday, April 26! A number of activities are currently being planned to commemorate our 6th grade students last weeks at Silver Oak, in preparation for promotion in June. Silver Oak students in grades 3-6 will join students throughout the state to take the annual California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress, or CAASPP, the state's academic testing program during the month of May. Please make sure to schedule appointments and other activities that may take your child away from school around the testing dates. Save the Date - Silver Oak Family FunFest is THURSDAY MAY 30 from 3 til 6 p.m. You'll enjoy festival games, entertainment, prizes and food - Fun, Fun Fun! We are seeking new members for the Measure M Citizens' Oversight Committee. Measure M funds are designated to upgrade and construct classrooms and hands-on science and technology labs and restrooms, help increase campus security and improve overall energy efficiency.

Attention 6th grade parents! There are new immunization requirements for all students entering 7th grade next school year. They must have their TDAP immunization and 2 doses of the Varicella vaccine before they will be allowed to attend middle school.

Incoming 7th and 8th grade applications for Bulldog Tech are now being accepted for the 2019-2020 school year. Applications are available at LeyVa Middle School or Bulldog Tech offices located at 1865 Monrovia Drive or click the headline to download the application. Application deadline is May 31.

Deadline to submit requests is May 17 if you are a resident of the Evergreen School District, but wish for your child to attend an Evergreen school other than your home school or if your child is currently attending an Evergreen School District school on an Interdistrict Transfer.

It's that time of year again, science fair is upon us. Grades 1st thru 6th will be participating. Most students will complete all of the work in class and or in the STEAM Lab. 12 winners will be selected to represent Silver Oak at the district level on Thursday, March 21 at Quimby Oak. The winners and some classes will also display their projects at Silver Oak's 4th annual STEAM Night & Makers Faire on Thursday, March 7.
