February's Project Cornerstone book title is "Nobody Knew What To Do", by Becky Ray McCain. This month's story is about empowering our kids to recognize when they can be UPstanders, instead of bystanders, when bad things are happening. Cornerstone classrooms will discuss the difference between tattling and telling, and help kids understand how they can effect positive change in that face of bullying and beyond.

It is sometimes difficult to decide when and how long to keep an ill child home from school. The timing of the absence is often important in order to decrease the spread of disease to others and to prevent your child from acquiring any other illness while his/her resistance is lowered. If your child's temperature is 100 degrees Fahrenheit or greater he/she should remain home until he/she has been without a fever for a full 24 hours without medication. Remember fever is a symptom indicating the presence of an illness.
