Distance Learning Will Continue Through End of 2019-20 School Year
Posted 04/01/2020 06:17PM

Dear Evergreen School District Community,

In his news conference today, April 1, Governor Newsom recommended that students should not return to school campuses due to the dangers posed by COVID-19. During that same news conference, Tony Thurmond, CA Superintendent of Education, added that schools need to proceed as if we can only educate students through distance learning for the rest of the year. While school is NOT done for the year, everyone needs to accelerate efforts to provide distance learning. Superintendents across Santa Clara County had a meeting this afternoon and made the unilateral decision to announce that we are now transitioning the school year from in-person classroom instruction to instruction and support for students through distance learning options as described by California Department of Education (CDE). Attached is the letter in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Evergreen School District will continue to work with you during this difficult transition. More information to follow as things continue to develop. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,

Dr. Emy Flores, Superintendent
