O.B. Whaley's Saturday Academy

Dear Parents,

O.B. Whaley is implementing a wonderful program for our students called Saturday Academy! Saturday Academy provides enrichment opportunities for all students while allowing our students to make-up missed days of attendance. Missed days of school also result in lost revenue to our schools. Saturday Academy allows us to recover lost learning as well as lost funding!

The first Saturday Academy program will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 from 8:00a.m. – 12:15p.m. Students should arrive to the Cafe on time and follow all regular school rules.

If a child's attendance history shows at least one absence this year, he/she is eligible to attend the Saturday Academy. You should be receiving a form from your child to register for Saturday Academy.

The Saturday Academy will offer a box snack. If your child is currently eligible for free or reduced meals under the National School Lunch Program, your preordered snack will be free. The reduced cost will be charged to your child's nutrition account. For those who are not receiving this benefit, the snack will be $2.00 per student and deducted from your child's nutrition account. Cash is not accepted. If you do not pre-order snack, please send your child with a snack.

Transportation will not be provided. Please make arrangements to pick up your child no later than 12:15 p.m.

We are pleased to have Ms. Nakano be our lead teacher for Saturday Academy. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Ms. Nakano at dnakano@eesd.org.

We look forward to seeing your child at the above session date, and I thank you in advance for your continued support and cooperation in making your child's academic career a priority!

Sincerely,

Loan Dinh, Principal
