This message was sent home with students on May 10, 2019:
It has been a privilege to watch your child develop and grow socially, emotionally, and academically. On behalf of the faculty, I wish your child continued success in high school and beyond.
The promotion ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 1:15 p.m. in the LeyVa quad. Dismissal for 8th graders will be at 10:20 am.
Each student will receive four tickets for guests, which is based on capacity and safety. If you wish to be placed on a waiting list to receive ONE additional ticket, contact our school secretary, Rene't Juco at 408-270-4992, beginning, Tuesday, June 11, 2019. Tickets will be given to your child after promotion practice on Wednesday, June 12th, including an additional ticket IF we are able to fulfill the request.
As with any large event, parking will present a challenge. We encourage families, who live within walking distance of the school, to walk. For those who must drive, our basketball blacktop will be open for additional parking. Of course, street parking is another option for guests.
ALL ATTENDEES must have a ticket to enter the campus. Children, below the age of five, do not need a ticket as long as they are able to sit on an adult's lap. If you choose to bring children, they must remain with an adult at all times and behave appropriately.
There will be three entrances to our event, one will be located next to the gym in the east parking lot, one on the west part of the campus on Monrovia, and the other entrance will be at the pedestrian gate adjacent to the library at the back of the school. Staff members and San Jose Police Officers will be at all gates to collect admission tickets.
There will be a disabled seating section available. Each disabled guest is allowed one person to accompany him/her into that area. There will be some disabled parking places available in the parking lot near Meadowfair Park.
We will have some chairs for guests. Another option is to bring a reasonably sized portable chairs, such as those you might bring to any outdoor event.
Thank you for making this promotion ceremony memorable for all.
