FAQ - Summer School

Below are answers to frequently asked questions about our summer school and enrichment classes offered during summer 2024.

Summer School

Q: Is Evergreen School District offering summer school?
A: Yes, we are offering a five-week summer school program to selected students during summer 2024. Students will receive instruction from Evergreen School District teachers in English, Math, and enrichment daily.

Q: Who can attend the 2024 summer school program in Evergreen School District? How can I register my child for summer school?
A: Our summer school program is only available to students on a need basis that have been recommended by their current teacher. Selected students will receive a registration packet from their teacher the week of April 24, 2024. Summer school will be offered to ESD elementary and middle school students in transitional kindergarten (TK) - 8th grades based on teacher recommendation.

Q: What days and times will summer school take place?
A: Summer school is Monday through Thursday beginning June 17 and ending July 18, 2024. There will be no school Wednesday, June 19 or Thursday, July 4. Elementary school classes are from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Middle school classes are from 8:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.  See daily schedule

Q: Which schools will summer school be offered?
A: Summer school will take place at the following combined school sites in Evergreen School District. See a full list of school locations

Elementary Schools

  • Cedar Grove - (Cedar Grove, Millbrook, and Norwood students)
  • Holly Oak - (Holly Oak and Cadwallader students)
  • J.F. Smith - (J.F. Smith, Montgomery, and Silver Oak students)
  • Katherine Smith - (Katherine Smith and O.B. Whaley students)
  • Matsumoto - (Matsumoto, Evergreen, and Carolyn Clark students)

Middle School

  • Leyva - ( Leyva, Quimby Oak and Chaboya students)

Special Education (ESY)

  • Matsumoto Elementary School

Q: Will the schools have breakfast, lunch and snacks for students?
A: At all school sites, breakfast and lunch will be offered at no charge during the days school is in session, to students enrolled in summer school. The school district will not be providing meals during the enrichment programs.
