Measure X
Evergreen Elementary School District's Board of Trustees has placed Measure X, a parcel tax, on the upcoming November 5th ballot. If approved, Measure X will raise approximately $3.3 million per year for the next seven years to provide the district with the financial resources to fund vital programs and services. All district voters can vote on Measure X.

WHAT IS MEASURE X?
Measure X is a parcel tax measure on the November 5, 2024, Presidential Election ballot. Levied on a flat per-parcel basis, parcel taxes are used to fund educational programs and services and support teachers and staff. If approved by at least two-thirds of the votes cast, it will raise approximately $3.3 million annually for seven years to provide Evergreen Elementary School District with the financial resources to fund programs and support teachers, counselors and staff at schools throughout the district.
HOW MUCH WILL MEASURE X COST?
Measure X will extend, but not increase, the current $125 annual parcel tax for seven years. Funds come from a fixed tax on all parcels-residential, commercial, agricultural and industrial-located
within the district.
IS THERE AN EXEMPTION FOR SENIOR CITIZENS?
Yes, seniors can apply for an exemption for their residences. Seniors who have already applied for and are receiving a previously approved senior citizen exemption will be automatically exempted from the Measure X parcel tax.
WHAT TAXPAYER PROTECTIONS ARE IN PLACE?
Measure X ensures that there will be full public disclosure of all spending. An independent Citizens' Oversight Committee must review and report on all Measure X expenditures, and a third-party auditor will audit all expenditures. Measure X includes a specific list of programs on which funds may be spent. Funds must be spent on Evergreen Elementary School District's programs and cannot be taken by the state and spent elsewhere.
HOW DO I VOTE BY MAIL?
All registered voters in California will receive a vote-by-mail ballot. If you need to register to vote, you can register online at www.registertovote.ca.gov. Once you complete your ballot, sign your ballot envelope and simply drop your ballot in the mail-postage is prepaid-by November 5, 2024.
