Superintendent Letter

Dear EESD Families,

On Monday, August 21, 2023, we opened our doors to welcome nearly 9,000 students to the 2023-24 school year. The first day of school marks a milestone for students and parents alike. For some, it is the first day of kindergarten and for others, it is the first day of 8th grade. No matter where our children are on their learning journey in the Evergreen Elementary School District (EESD), it is my commitment to you to provide an environment that is challenging, supportive, safe, and inspirational.

All of our elementary and middle schools take a personalized approach to aiding students become lifelong learners and readers. With genuine care and commitment, students are greeted by name. All of our students have the opportunity to participate in distinguished educational programs as we work to serve the aspirations of all students.  I firmly believe that the team approach of teachers, families, and classified staff supporting students is key to our young scholar’s success. All of our campuses welcome and encourage parent involvement. I want to extend a sincere thank you for your active engagement in your child’s education.

EESD is one of the best school districts in Santa Clara County. We offer all the opportunities and amenities of a large district while maintaining a personal touch and feel. Our recent recognition of five of our schools being named “California Distinguished Schools” along with the reclassification of 570 English Learners is a shining example of the hard work and dedication of our staff to your children. While we are proud of our accomplishments, we are not satisfied. We are continually striving to do better. This year our theme is Back to our Roots, finding greatness for every student, every staff member, and the community we serve.

Again, welcome back. I, along with our dedicated team, are excited to be a part of partnering with you this school year and I look forward to seeing all that we accomplish for our students!
