Yes, two of our middle schools offer New Tech Network Project Based Learning academic models. Our programs are called Bulldog Tech which is located on the campus of LeyVa Middle School and Lobo School of Innovation (LSI) located on the campus of Quimby Oak Middle School. Registration for Bulldog Tech and LSI takes place in the spring.

If your child is currently attending an elementary school in Evergreen School District, he/she will automatically be registered at your assigned middle school (see locater above).

In the spring, students will complete an e-form to chose their Elective Class for the next school year. Elective Classes are assigned on a space available basis. Priority is given to eighth grade students first.

Registration links will be sent through email following student orientation. Though each school tries their best to fulfill each students choice, we are unable to guarantee them. Learn more about elective classes offered at each school on their Electives webpage:

1. Make sure you child has their Tdap booster shot and two doses of Varicella (VAR). A school immunization law requires all students entering 7 grade in California to be immunized with a pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine booster called Tdap and has received two doses of Varicella. All students entering into 7th grade will need proof of a Tdap shot and Varicella given on or after their 7th grade birthday before starting middle school. Parents need to present documentation of their child’s vaccination record to their elementary school's front office before the end of the school year. 2. Make Sure Your Contact Information is Up-to-Date in PowerSchool. PowerSchool is a web-based student information system used by Evergreen School District. In middle school the system lets parents and students see how their student is performing academically, follow their attendance, and communicate with teachers. You can see what scores they have earned on assignments/tests, if there are any missing assignments, and sometimes see upcoming assignments. A mobile phone app is also available to access the same information.
3. Register for ParentSquare. ParentSquare is used for school and district communication, primarily using email and text.
   1. Current ESD students - The ParentSquare account(s) for parents of students currently attending an ESD school will automatically be rolled over to their assigned middle school the week before school begins.
   2. Parents of newly enrolled students should activate their ParentSquare account as soon as they receive an invitation to do so, either by email or text message.

Throughout the school year various sports are offered at each middle school. Some sports are cut sports and others take all students interested.

There are a variety of extracurricular activities available to students. Clubs, dances, noontime activities, intramural events, Spirit Days, and other events are just some of the opportunities students have to participate in their school. All our middle schools offer advanced placement classes in math. In May, all 6th graders take a diagnostic math assessment called Algebra 1/Integrated Math 1 Readiness Test or MDTP. Results from the MDTP assessment AND the CAASPP math assessment assist in determining middle school math placement.

You will be notified in August when student schedules are sent out by mail and/or when class schedules are posted in PowerSchool, which is typically the day before school begins.
