Multitudes: Reading Screening for K– Grade 2 Students
Helping children become strong readers starts early. The Multitudes reading screening gives teachers and families valuable information about how each child is learning to read. This helps us give students the right support at the right time so they can grow as confident, successful readers.
This screening is part of a state requirement (Education Code 53008)to make sure every student gets the help they need to build strong reading skills.
Multitudes is not a test or a diagnosis. It is a tool that helps teachers:
-
Understand how each child is developing reading skills.
-
Plan lessons that meet each student’s needs.
-
Talk with parents and caregivers about how to support learning at home.
This screening is given once each year, and you will receive your child’s Multitudes results within 45 days of the screening period.
Opt-out option: We strongly encourage students to participate, but parents may choose not to have their child screened.
If you wish to opt out or have any questions, please email your child’s school principal.
