LCFF / LCAP
Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF)
The Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) is the state's funding model for California public schools. It replaced the previous Base Revenue Limit system and provides a more consistent allocation of funding based on student grade levels and needs. Under LCFF, districts receive a Base Grant for each student, along with additional funding for students who are English learners, low-income, or foster youth. This model aims to simplify school funding and direct resources to where they are most needed.
Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP)
As part of LCFF, every district is required to develop a Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP outlines the district’s vision, goals, and actions for improving student outcomes and supporting student success. The plan also describes how the district involves and engages parents, students, staff, and the community in the planning process.
