Senior Parcel Tax Exemption
You are eligible for an exemption from the Evergreen School District parcel tax in the 2023-24 tax year if:
- You are the owner of a parcel within Evergreen School District (ESD) boundaries
- You are at least 65 years old as of July 1st of the tax year
- The parcel is your principal residence
To request exemption, please use the following link to submit the Online Exemption Form - available now and upload the required documents. Submissions must be received not later then May 31, 2023:

If you have previously been granted an exemption from the parcel tax, your exemption will be automatically renewed each year as long as you remain eligible for the exemption.

Q: How Do I file for a Senior Parcel Tax Exemption?
A: If you wish to be exempt from the parcel tax, you need to submit the online Request for Exemption with the Evergreen School District. This request must be filed by May 31st with ESD.
Required Documents:
To process your request, the Evergreen School District needs copies of the following documents:
- Proof of Ownership
- Tax Bill
- Proof of Residence (1 of the following)
- Utility Bill-PG&E , Water ( Most recent issued documents, monthly statements received within the last 45 days)
- Proof of Birth Date (1 of the following)
- California Driver’s License/CA ID Card
- Passport
- Birth Certificate
Q: How Do I Renew My Exemption?
A: If you have previously been granted an exemption from the Measure E parcel tax, your exemption will be automatically renewed each year as long as you remain eligible for the exemption. If a future parcel tax is approved, you will have to reapply.
