The Hanger and The Wardrobe

Are you in need, or know of anyone in need of gently used clothing for school age students? Our district has two locations for families in need. O.B. Whaley (The Hanger) is a site that is open the first Thursday of each month from 1:30-3:00pm. Katherine Smith (The Wardrobe) is another site that is open the 2nd Thursday of each month from 1-4pm. Donations are accepted as well, and this is a service for all Evergreen families.

Girls on the Run

Registration opens soon for Girls on the Run at O.B. Whaley. Girls on the Run is a life-changing, after-school program for girls in 4th – 6th grades. Girls learn life skills such as healthy decision-making, teamwork and confidence while training to complete a 5K! The season starts the week of March 6 and the Whaley team will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays (3:45 – 4:15 pm). Cost is $25 per girl. Registration is online only at www.gotrsv.org. Safety Survey

Second Harvest Food Drive

O.B. Whaley will be participating in a holiday food drive.  Students are asked to bring in non-perishable food to be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank for distribution to families in need.  The canned food drive will begin the week of November 28th and continue through December 15th.

Ride Your Bike To School
Tuesday, September 13, 2016
With parent permission, we now allow students in 3rd through 6th grade to ride their bikes to school. In addition to the California Highway Patrol bicycle regulations, bikes must be walked, not ridden, on school grounds. Likewise, this permission slip must be on file in the office for your child to ride their bike to school. There are a limited number of available bike racks. They will be assigned first come, first served. Click on the title to obtain the permission slip.

O. B. Whaley School Site Council is Looking for Parent Volunteers for the New School Year O. B. Whaley School Site Council (SSC) plays an important role in decision-making at our school. Our SSC meets 5-6 times a year and is made up of a group of teachers, parents and staff who work with the principal to develop, review and evaluate school improvement programs and school budgets. The terms for some of the parents currently holding representative positions are ending and we are looking for O. B. Whaley parents to join the SSC. To find out more about O. B. Backpack Giveaway!
