The Season of Reflection, Gratitude and Thanksgiving is here. Let us give thanks to the wonderful teachers and staff of Matsumoto! The Matsumoto Fall Staff Appreciation Event is on Thursday, November 16, 2016 from 7am - 3pm. We would like to families from grades K-AM, 2,4 and 6 to participate in the fall event. Your generous donation of delicious food is one of the ways we can show Teachers and Staff how much we care. PTA-Movie Night

Please join us Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm in the Matsumoto Forum to see the Jungle Book. Pizza, Popcorn, Samosas and Water will be sold. Do not forget your pillow and blanket. Children need to be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the show. Unaccompanied children will not be allowed.

Walk for Education Raises $40,000

Tom Matsumoto PTA and Starting Arts Presents Shrek Jr. The Musical Students in Grades 1-6 are welcome. Sign-up sheets are available in the school office. The first 84 students will be accepted. No exceptions.

Costume Parade on October 31

Matsumoto's Costume Parade will begin at 8:30am on Monday, Oct. 31st. Parents are invited and welcome to attend! As you help your child choose a costume, please keep in mind some of our guidelines. As always, students are not required to wear a costume. Costumes should: • Be safe for children to walk and move around in • Not be excessively gory, gruesome, nor frightening • Not include weapons of any kind NEITHER MAKEUP NOR HAIR SPRAY PRODUCTS ARE TO BE BROUGHT TO SCHOOL.

Matsumoto shines as Gold Ribbon school

The recently introduced California Gold Ribbon Schools Award, which was created to honor schools in place of the California Distinguished Schools Program, was awarded to Matsumoto Elementary School. Gold Ribbon schools demonstrate exemplary achievements in implementing state standards in priority areas like common core standards and 21st century learning.
