Wrestling: Chaboya's wrestlers lost to an experienced Quimby Oak Lobos team in a preseason match. Outstanding wrestlers included Chris P. and Tyler A. Girls Basketball: This year's eighth grade team beat the Valley Christian Warriors 27-26 in the second round of play at the Chaboya Colt Classic and earned third place in the tournament. The seventh grade team also played the Warriors, but lost to a talented Valley Christian team in the final round of the Colt Classic. The seventh grade team earned a second place trophy in the tournament.

The Chaboya Colts cross country team is now BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK East Section Champions. On Wednesday, October 18th at Christmas Hill Park in Gilroy, the Colts capped off an amazing season, winning their fifth straight title. The C Boys and C Girls placed second in their divisions, and the Seventh Grade Girls, Seventh Grade Boys, Eighth Grade Girls, and the Eighth Grade Boys all earned a first place in their divisions. Top Individual Runners were: C Girls- B'Elanna Pho (4th Place) C Boys- Christopher Longoni (7th Place) 7th Grade Girls- Simone Van Teeffelen (1st Place) 7th Grade Boys- Zach Deguzman (7th Place) 8th Grade Girls- Sophia Williams (2nd Place) 8th Grade Boys- Rick Yanashita (6th Place) Special thanks go out to all team members for their hard work and dedication for the past eighth weeks. Thank you to the staff and administrators who supported the team and coaches. Finally, a special thank you to Mrs. Hodgin and Mrs. Grassi for arranging transportation for the team.

The middle school counselors are presenting a parent workshop about children's mental health on Thursday, November 2 from 6-7pm at the LeyVa Middle School library. Topics include: how to support your whole child, the impact of mental health in children (such as stress and anxiety), how to recognize signs of positive and negative mental health and how to help your children develop coping skills and resiliency.
