September 3, 2010 -- I very much enjoyed meeting you all last night, and I am confident this will be a great year for me, for you, and for the students. During the holiday weekend, help your students notice descriptive details that they might use in their writing. Examples: Does he heat shimmer off the concrete? Is a particularly unusual cloud floating overhead? Can you hear birds over the sound of cars? Beyond that, enjoy the long weekend!
August 30, 2010-- This Thursday is Back to School Night! I will be sharing what your student needs to do to be successful in my class this year. Also, I will be giving out passwords so you can access your student’s grades online. Make sure you are there! 6:00-7:30 p.m. Note: This event is not for students, but the YMCA is providing childcare for $5 per child.
August 23, 2010 -- After a successful first week of school, today begins the first full week of school. Homework should still be rather light this week, but next week we’ll be up to speed. Make sure to mark your calendars for Back to School night, which is September 2, at 6:00 p.m. Looking forward to meeting all of you then!
August 17, 2010--Welcome back to school! I hope you enjoyed your very short summer. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you and getting our year started.
