Dear Families,

         We are preparing for our First Grade performance of “Spring Pageant”.  Please help your child practice their parts and songs.  We are trying to use “BIG VOICES” (not shouting) so our audience will be able to hear us.  Thanks for your help!

JFS Science Fair:   Congratulations to our 13 Science Fair participants.  All of the students did a fantastic job!  Everyone is invited to see all of the projects on Thursday, March 11 from 6:30pm-7:30pm in the JFS Multipurpose Room.

SCCWD:  On Thursday, March 11, The Santa Clara County Water District will be coming to visit all of the First Graders and teach us about the importance of water and water conservation.  We are looking forward to many fun educational activities!

2nd Trimester Report Cards:  Second Trimester Report Cards will be sent home in the Friday Folder.  Please keep the Report Card and sign and send back the envelope.

Logo Contest: Design the T-Shirt for “Jimmy’s Birthday Carnival Celebration 2010”.  The winner will have their artwork on this years shirt, advertisements and win free shirts for your family.  Contest rules will be sent home in the Friday Folder.  Entries are due on or before Monday, March 29.  Good Luck!

Writing Journals:  For the month of March, please have your child write on their own.  You may discuss ideas together prior to writing. I will teach students how to “proofread” their journal writing in class this month.  Thanks for your continued support!

JFS PTA Event:  Friday, March 26, will be our 2010 Multicultural Night, from 6:00pm-8:30pm in the Multipurpose Room.  Please contact the PTA if you are interested in volunteering or participating.

RAH:  March Reading at Home forms (or a note) will be due on Thursday, April 1st.  Book Charms will be given on this date.

No School:  There will be no school Friday, April 2nd - 9th for our annual Spring Break.  School resumes on Monday, April 12.
