Thank you for your help with the Science Fair. Everyone did a great job on their projects and presented well-rehearsed presentations. Congratulations to Samrit and Tianna. Their projects were chosen to represent our class for the school judging.
On Friday, all third graders will go to Mountain View to see the play, “Willie Wonka”. We will return to JFS in time for our regular lunch. We will not have any chaperones for this trip, since the theater allows seating only for students.
Our class was so busy with science fair projects last week that we got a little behind with our narrative writing. We will continue writing about our haunted houses and revising them, focusing on adding sensory details.
In our anthology, we will read Seal Surfer. There will be a reading comprehension and vocabulary test on Friday.
In math, we will complete Chapter 8, metric and customary length. There will be a test on this chapter on Thursday. Please help your child with math homework to prepare for this test.
In art, we are learning about Georgia O’Keeffe. We will use watercolors to create large flowers in her style. Look for these at Open House in April.
STAR tests will be given in May.  You can help your child prepare for these exams by taking the practice tests online. Go to California State Test
