Description

The Evergreen School District Student Film Festival is designed to showcase and celebrate the creative works of our students using video technology to cooperatively construct a film. These films can be the endeavor of a classroom assignment, an after school club, or an independent venture where students are coached by a teacher. In fact all of the projects must be an original, student-created, film supported by one of our classroom teachers. Our goal is to provide an authentic venue where students have the opportunity to use today’s media and technology to facilitate high-order thinking skills and problem-solving techniques, to engage in complex, collaborative, tasks within an academic setting. Once accomplished, our students will have a way to celebrate their accomplishments and strengthen the connection between school and home through our community festival. The end result will allow our students to associate their academic achievements with real-world application. It is our hope here in Evergreen, that the students will connect the things they learn in school to the important life-long skills they will need in their futures through endeavors such as this.
