Welcome to Chaboya Middle School! Established in 1991, Chaboya is located in the south-easterly section of the Evergreen School District. Built in the location of San Jose's first Specific Plan Community, Chaboya's beautiful facility stands in the rolling foothills just north of the Evergreen Community College campus. Being relatively new, the students, staff and parents of Chaboya are expanding our reputation as an effective and vital educational institution. We provide students with programs that allow them to be the best they can be. The traditions in academic and co-curricular activities are already established as Chaboya stormed into the system with a multitude of awards and recognition from a variety of sources. Partnerships were developed with SEVA/Syntex, the College Board in the Equity 2000 Project, The Noyce Foundation, the University of Santa Cruz Academic Opportunity Program, and the Smart Valley's SmartSchools PC Day program. Chaboya has won the San Jose Beautiful Award for middle schools twice in three years. An unprecedented achievement for a new school, Chaboya Middle School achieved the honor of being a California Distinguished School in 1994 and in 1999.

Our School - A Beautiful School

Visitors say Chaboya looks like a mini-mall with it's artistic architecture, and students say it gives them a warm, relaxed feeling at school. From our red, Spanish tile roofs to our matching burgundy, peacock blue, and jade green carpets and furniture, one has a feeling of comfort. In addition, we have covered walkways, beautiful columns, numerous common areas, and a gated closed campus. To make learning easier, we have well-equipped science labs, a newly remodled computer lab, and a library that has speedy access to computerized card catalogs and the WWW for research. Our large gym is decorated with spots championship pennants colored black, red, and white to emphasize school spirit. In addition, we also have a metric track and expansive athletic fields.
